Tadej Juran, born on the 4th of July 1988, grew up in a family with a long tradition of carpentry. He studied in Slovenia and in the Netherlands at the Eindhoven University of Technology and achieved a master’s degree at the Faculty of Architecture, the University of Ljubljana in 2016.
In 2017, he established his own studio, Atelier Juran, with a strong focus on creating complete and integrated architecture. His artistic endeavors weave together the design of spaces, objects, and the natural environment into a harmonious unity, while also conveying the intrinsic nature of human existence. He perceives architecture as the art of building and dwelling, which, through its functionality, serves not only our physical needs but also guides us towards higher values. Similar to other forms of artistic expression, architecture enriches human existence and elevates the human spirit. The core vision of Atelier Juran centers around crafting spaces that radiate serenity, evoke beauty, and seamlessly connect the material and spiritual dimensions of human life into a harmonious whole.
Among the other awards, he received Red Dot Award: Product Design 2023 and the highest Slovenian award for architecture students (The Plečnik Award) for his master thesis entitled Sensorial experience of the retreat architecture.
